Your Library Card is Valuable

A TWU ID Card (with a barcode) or library card (for community and external users) is required for the following services:

  • Ordering interlibrary loan material.
  • Placing holds on print material in the library’s collection.
  • Checking out physical material at the library.
  • Renewing checked-out material online.
  • Viewing your library account online

The barcode is not required to access electronic resources from off campus. Use your TWU username and password instead.

You are responsible for all material borrowed with your card.

Lost or stolen cards should be reported to library staff.

Cards are non-transferable.

Damaged or altered cards will not be accepted for checking out material.

Graduation, withdrawal from the university, or termination of employment ends library privileges of students and employees but one can reapply for privileges as an alumni or community borrower.

Where do I get my library card?

STUDENTS, STAFF, AND FACULTY

Your TWU ID card with a barcode is your Library card. The barcode on your TWU ID allows you to borrow and place holds on print material from the library, as well as request material from other libraries.

  • If you do not have a TWU ID card (or barcode) but are entitled to one:
    • Current Undergrad Students: contact Student Life
    • Current Graduate Students: contact your program coordinator
    • Staff: contact Human Resources
    • Faculty: contact Holly Porra

  • Your digital alumni card or previous student card can be used as your library card.

How do I activate my card?

STUDENTS

  • No action is necessary if you have a library barcode on your TWU ID card. Undergraduate and graduate student barcodes are automatically uploaded to the library's system and are active if the student is enrolled in the current or following semester
