Most of our recent books are electronic, which makes it easy for distance students to get access.
The library does not send print books to distance students, although we will, on request, scan and send small portions of print books (to the amount permitted by copyright law) to @mytwu.ca e-mail addresses. Please include your @mytwu.ca email address if using a different default email.
This service is also available to our community and alumni borrowers who are unable to come to campus for health reasons.
Contact us with your request.
Finding e-books:
For information on our complete e-book collections, see our E-Books Guide.
On the E-Book record page, you will see a button which says Full Download.
This is NOT for downloading the entire ebook in PDFs, but it is a feature to check out the ebook for offline viewing. You will be directed to download a program called, Adobe Digital Editions, for viewing/browsing the ebook.
Mobile/tablet app users can now read eBooks on their handheld device, without downloading Adobe Digital Editions.
We have different options to use the ebooks based on the concurrent user level we have for each title, shown on the ebook record page on the Library OneSearch result page. See an example below.
Summary for user licensing details for different concurrent user levels
Single User titles (1-user access) = available for online reading only
Multi-user titles (3-users access) = borrow for 2 hours
Unlimited User Access = borrow for 21 days
