Developing Student Researchers - The Faculty Role (4 unit workshop)

A series of workshops for faculty on integration of information literacy into their instruction and assignments.

Welcome

                      

Faculty at every level grapple with a number of struggles faced by their students:

  • Lack of understanding of today's information landscape
  • Lack of understanding of the world of scholarship
  • Struggle to enculturate within disciplines
  • Inability to design their research
  • Lack of understanding of academic databases
  • Difficulty with evaluating found information

and so on.

This workshop series will address existing challenges and consider ways that faculty members, while maintaining the integrity of their courses, can develop their own students as skilled researchers.
