To use this platform (powered by Springshare), the system writes one or more cookies in your browser. This platform's cookies are not shared with any third parties. In addition, your IP address and browser information is stored in server logs and used to generate anonymized usage statistics. Alloway Library uses these statistics to gauge the use of library content.
Alloway Library also uses Google Analytics (GA) to capture location, device, browser, operating system, platform, screen resolution, and page views/interactions data for analysis and usage statistics. Note that GA associates visitation information that it collects from this site and the Classic Catalogue with Google information from accounts of signed-in users. More information can be found here.
For our users in the European Union (EU), in addition to Google's EU-focused data privacy practice, further measures have been taken to disable the collection of granular location and device data for the current member states of the EU.
The following outlines additional actions the library has taken and ways to help manage all of our users' privacy:
Though Google provides additional data sharing options (between GA and Google), Alloway Library has disabled all but the Modelling Contributions & Business Insights feature to help with predictive analytics and benchmarking. Shared data are de-identified.
Alloway Library has disabled the collection of data for the purposes of ads personalisation.
Data associated with cookies and user/advertising identifiers will be deleted after 2 months.
Users may opt out of GA by installing the opt-out add-on in their browser.
