Here are some workarounds if the catalogue goes down on an evening or weekend and patrons need to find books:
- Use the E-book Collection:
- The page includes EBSCOhost E-books, ACLS Humanities (HEB), Canadian Health Research, and other open-source collections.
- If they’re searching for a specific book, use WorldCat to get the call number and then go to the shelves to see if we have it. You'll need to find the book in a library that uses Library of Congress cataloguing. It should give you a call number that's close enough to get you to the right section of the library.
- If they’re researching a topic, use WorldCat to get the call number range for the topic and browse the shelves for relevant information.
Send an e-mail to the Research Help Desk so the reference librarians know there's an issue and can make further suggestions.
